Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and TSR Labs, the maker of Athar. By using Athar you accept them.

Athar is an aid, not a guarantee

Off-road driving is dangerous. Maps, satellite images, positions, other cars' locations, hazards, elevation and weather can be wrong, out of date, late or missing, especially without signal. You are responsible for your safety, your vehicle and your route, and for following the law and any access rules where you drive. Do not use the app in a way that takes your attention from driving; let a passenger do it.

What SOS reaches

SOS alerts the members of your convoys, when there is signal. It does not contact the emergency services.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google, and you are responsible for what happens in your account. Keep your phone secure.

Convoys and hazards

Convoy leaders decide who joins and can remove members. Mark hazards honestly: do not mark false or misleading hazards, and make public only hazards others will find where you marked them. We may remove content and suspend accounts that misuse Athar.

What you write

Your name, car, convoy names, hazard notes, SOS notes and notes to drivers must be about driving and the convoy. Do not post anything abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual, misleading or unlawful, or anyone's private information.

Notes to drivers are checked automatically before they are written up and sent. You can report a note, or block its writer, from the note itself, and a reported note leaves your notes at once. Leaders can remove and ban members. Report anything else to support@atharnavs.com. We review reports, remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend or close the accounts that post it; someone whose notes several people report can no longer send notes.

Premium

Premium is a subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play, monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the app. A free trial, where offered, becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings, and Apple or Google handle payment and refunds under their own terms.

The founding offer (two months free, then a yearly price that stays the same for as long as the subscription continues) is for the first 100 people to start Premium.

Maps and other services

Map data © Mapbox and © OpenStreetMap contributors; weather from Apple Weather. They are provided under their own terms, shown in the app.

Liability

Athar is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, TSR Labs is not liable for loss, injury or damage arising from your use of Athar or from relying on its information.

Ending

You can stop using Athar and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for misuse.

Apple

If you got Athar from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies too. Apple is not responsible for Athar or its support.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; we update the date and tell you in the app when the change matters. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
